She studied Psychology and holds a Master degree in Clinical Neuropsychology by the University of Barcelona and a PhD by the University of Basque Country in Spain and the University of Colorado at Boulder, studying individual differences in behavioral coping strategies to social stress, and its neurobiological and immunological correlates of these behaviors and impact in chronic disease. Currently, she works as Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) where she runs her own laboratory in Behavioral Neuroscience examining the effects of physical activity in the brain. Previously, she worked at Stanford University at the laboratory of Prof. Robert Sapolsky and the laboratory of Prof. Tony Wyss-Coray. She has published in Nature and presented in well-known international conferences as invited speaker.
