She studied psychology at the Philipps-Universität Marburg PhD at the IWM. She is an expert on how the violation of expectations within a group affects its composition. She focused specifically on the exclusion of the person who violates the expectations and group leaving by group members whose expectations were violated. Currently, she is member of the Social Processes Lab at the Leibniz-Institut für Wissensmedien in Tübingen (Germany) as post-doc fellow under the Margarete von Wrangell-Programme funded by the federal ministry of science (Baden-Württemberg). She investigates the role of emotions (anger or anxiety) and emotion regulation in collective action. Specifically she focuses on the causes and consequences of anger and anxiety, the consequences of expectation violations by members and leaders of groups and the effects of historical propaganda images on emotions.
